A Glimpse into 2024

In September myself (Ginny), Greg and Nicky took a trip to visit Maison & Object in Paris to look at interior and décor trends and inspirations for 2024. Here in vast halls of the Villepinte Exhibition Centre, brands, designers, artisans, interior design experts gather to make connections, seal new deals and immerse themselves into a vibrant melting pot of the latest trends.

TAKING CARE

Taking the time to take care was a big theme at the show.  Taking care…of yourself, of your mental and physical health, of others, of the planet. The notion of “care”, which is on the rise, reflects this absolute need to choose products that are certified as being eco-responsible and that rely on short, sustainable supply chains.

GROWING DEMAND

There is now officially a demand for recycled, upcycled and pre-owned products. In decor shops, it’s no longer unusual to see new and flea-market objects side-by-side.  Figures from a poll conducted by Maison & Object report that 80% of professionals have noticed a growing interest from their clients in recycled products, with 72% expressing an interest in upcycled products and 63% in pre-owned items.

We know that clients coming to Virginias Vintage Hire are looking for uniqueness without breaking the bank, hence the combination of new products on offer alongside antique and vintage products, including some spectacular statement pieces.

As we strive to uphold a sense of longevity and create a timeless appeal with our hire collection, it’s an absolute delight that what we consider the core offering of our company not only remains on-trend but is very much set to grow.

A MELTING POT

While we walked through the halls, we saw a wonderful combination and a mix of decades and cultures reflected in the 2024 interior design trends. With ideas flowing for what to bring into our hire collections for next year we could see that combining colours and patterns and material mixes will bring about event design that considers comfort and functionality in alignment with style.

Back in the office, we are leafing through a hoard of beautiful brochures, jotting down ideas and making notes on new suppliers to make contact with. As the busy season tails off, we will start to hone down our ideas and in the early new year we will begin to share with you what we will be adding into our furniture and décor collections for the year to come.

Welcome 2024, a world of events that bring together values, optimism and the opportunity for you to be expressive and creative, tell your own personal story alongside a tapestry of trends where not everything has to match. We very much look forward to working with you.
