Last Thursday saw the spectacular transformation of Canary Wharf’s East Wintergarden into a virtual forest for The Friends Of The Earth charity banquet and auction. We were among the lucky to be asked to get involved and sponsor the event which gave an opportunity to bring nature into the city and raise awareness of their current Bee Campaign.

The banquet room was set up with our vintage trestle tables and chairs and decorated lavishly with an array of scattered autumn leaves, herbs, candles, berries, and trees, to create an atmospheric forest scape highlighted by the sounds of Carnet De Voyage and by the visual creations of Darren Johnston.

Hosted by comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw, guests were treated to a cocktail reception followed by five course dinner created by top chefs including amongst others, Antonnio Carluccio.

The main fundraising moment of the night was a live auction held by Christie’s, and complimented by the silent auction, (where from the luxury of their dining seat guests could place bids via touch screen tablet), the evening raised over £65,000. Well done Friends Of The Earth for such a fantastic night and to everyone involved for giving so generously.
