Virginias Vintage Hire Feature on BBC Two’s ‘The Fixer’

Alex Polizzi, champion of small businesses, finds fixes for the critical issues that kill so many companies. In episode 3 of the 2015 series, Alex looks at businesses which are at the mercy of trends. Events company Balloonin Marvellous in Wakefield run by husband-and-wife team Jo and Giuseppe had really got behind the curve in the sense of trends and were struggling manage their business and finances.

Alex tries to get this small business to stand out from the crowd by tapping into the very customer it is trying to attract and asked Jo to create some designs for a photo shoot at stunning Castle Howard in Yorkshire. Jo used furniture and props from Virginias Vintage Hire to style the ‘Sicilian Wedding’ table plan, the beautiful shoot was captured by Ally Byrom Photography and the images were used to develop a new website and business literature.

Jo and Giuseppe re-branded their family business Balloonin Marvellous into a new high end events styling company now known as Lusso Styling, at Alex’s recommendation. The Wakefield-based company is now repositioned and busier than ever as Jo has found a new vision for the company and new confidence in her own creative skills and abilities.
