International Rescue Committee at British Museum
To celebrate Refugee Week 2016 the International Rescue Committee (IRC) hosted a multimedia exhibition at the British Museum. The exhibition featured a recreated IRC Healing Classroom – using Virginia’s Vintage Hire stock – to reflect the realities of the IRC’s work helping displaced children in north-east Nigeria to access quality education.
IRC selected vintage chairs, school benches, blackboards, and easels to bring their classroom to life. To find out more about the project that inspired the exhibition visit http://childrenofpeace.rescue-uk.org/. International Rescue Committee UK is the European headquarters of the IRC global network. They support people uprooted by conflict or natural disaster to rebuild their lives quickly, safely and with dignity. We were delighted to have been part of this event.
