A one-off Great British Menu special where three of Britain’s leading chefs have to call on their professional skills and cook cheap nutritious meals on a limited family household budget. Virginia’s Vintage Hire were asked to supply tables, chairs and props for the finale of the programme – a Budget Banquet, held in London and attended by politicians, high street supermarket representatives, well known faces and movers and shakers from the charity world. The Great British Menu Judges – Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton were joined by Mary Berry who were invited to taste the food and discuss the issues of foods poverty in Britain today. The programme was aired on BBC1 Friday 2nd August at 8pm.
